You Will Need

Gather the following ingredients and tools before you begin:

  • 2 white Jordan Almonds
  • Approximately ½ cup white candy coating wafers
  • 4 white Smarties candies
  • 2 mini pink confetti sprinkles
  • Black edible marker
  • 1 miniature peanut butter cup
  • 1 Rolo candy
  • 1 large red heart sprinkle
  • 2 small white heart sprinkles
  • 2 white peanut butter cups
  • Red, pink and white small heart sprinkles
  • Toothpicks and a small heatproof bowl for melting

Instructions

  1. Melt the white candy coating wafers in a small heatproof bowl, following the package instructions. Stir until smooth.
  2. Make the mouse ears by attaching two white Smarties to the back of a white Jordan Almond with a small dab of the melted candy coating. Hold or set on parchment until the pieces are firmly attached.
  3. Use a toothpick dipped in the melted coating to attach a mini pink confetti sprinkle to the pointed end of the Jordan Almond as the nose.
  4. Use a black edible marker to draw two small dots for the eyes on the Jordan Almond.
  5. For the girl mouse, attach the completed head to an upside-down miniature peanut butter cup using a bit of melted candy coating. For the boy mouse, attach the head to an upside-down Rolo candy the same way.
  6. Create the bow or decoration: with a toothpick and melted coating, adhere the large red heart sprinkle to the top center of the miniature peanut butter cup. For the Rolo, attach two small white heart sprinkles pointing toward one another to look like a bow tie.
  7. Once the head decorations are in place, reinforce the connection between head and base by adding a little more melted coating and letting them set.
  8. Secure each mouse to a white peanut butter cup using melted candy coating so they sit upright on the cup.
  9. To finish, draw a thin rim of melted coating around the edge of the white peanut butter cup with a toothpick and immediately press red, pink, and white heart sprinkles onto the rim. Allow everything to dry completely on parchment paper.
